Your Business Is Reliant On The True Value Of Internet Marketing
The majority of businesses in America have not learned the true value of internet marketing in their business, and they continue to pour excessive amounts of money into systems and processes that no longer provide the return on investment that they once enjoyed.
I refer to this evolution as The Internet Squeeze and feel so strongly about the changing world of marketing that I used it as the title of my new book. The consumer has turned to the internet and it is time for small and large businesses alike to compete in the greener pasture of the electronic world.
The internet squeeze is the process that companies are falling prey to as margins decline due to an ever-increasing level of competition for their once local products and services. The internet has made the world a global market place, thus all businesses have felt the need to push some of their marketing resources to the world wide web.
Unfortunately, these businesses do not realize that an effective internet marketing plan is not similar to the traditional methods that they utilize in print media, radio, television, cable, and signage. The internet is not just another place to erect a billboard to the company, rather it is a process mechanism that needs much greater attention.
The internet squeeze occurs because companies are paying a sales force to both generate and convert leads, but their traditional methods of advertising are realizing fewer and fewer good leads. Ultimately, the sales force is less effective, but the budget for marketing has either increased or has been spread across too many channels. This has resulted in even less efficiency for the sales operations.
The internet squeeze is going to put companies who fail to adapt out of business. They will be forced to make cuts as they fail to grasp the methodologies required to generate business on the web. As their competition grows and their effectiveness dwindles, they will have no recourse left but surrender.
But all is not lost for the traditional brick and mortar business. Decision makers in these organizations need to immediately embrace the vast resources that are available on the internet and begin to implement progressive marketing campaigns that will drive customers to their company websites. These customers can increase the operating efficiency of the sales force, and help the company be among the survivors as the internet squeeze takes out their less fortunate competitors.
