Some elder people are taken care of by either family or friends. This is often because long term care cost can be very expensive and most seniors do not have enough income to cover the cost. This often means that the care is done by the family, which can often mean more expenses to the caregiver.

Most people believe that insurance companies will provide the money to pay for the type of care needed. The sad fact is that they are not. There are many ways having a state funded or community based programs that can help with medical care, transportation and meals. If assistance is needed during the day, a state funded day care can often help.
